Zinc Oxide is a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen that stays on the surface of the skin and does not penetrate the fragile scar tissue as chemical sunscreens do. Zinc Oxide is also known to be anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing skin protectant. This product is ideal for scars in exposed areas such as faces, arms, and hands.

NewGel+UV is the first scar treatment to combine zinc oxide, a chemical-free mineral sunscreen, with a specialized blend of medical grade silicones to protect new scars while it works to flatten, soften and fade them.

Sun exposure on fragile, newly healed scars can cause hyperpigmentation. This brown discoloration can be permanent. NewGel+UV includes zinc oxide to protect scars from the harmful rays of the sun.

Zinc oxide is a broad spectrum physical (mineral) sunscreen, and a safer option because it stays on the surface of the skin and is not absorbed into it. It is gentle and non-irritating, even on sensitive skin.

NewGel+UV dries to form a thin, flexible, waterproof layer on the skin. It creates a protective barrier with the ideal environment to manage and reduce scarring. It is important to apply the gel at least twice a day, morning and night, especially prior to sun exposure. Use for 3 months on new scars. Older scars may take up to 6 months.

NewGel+UV can be used exclusively for the full course of treatment or alternated with other NewGel+ products. Do not use NewGel+UV under NewGel+ Silicone Gel Sheeting or it will cause the sheeting to lose adhesiveness. Use NewGel+UV during the day and alternate with the sheeting at night if desired.
